It starts...

This is a collection of my experimental recipes.

Some of them I've made-up from scratch, some I've modified from other sources, and some are lovely old recipes I've tried to give a new lease of life for the modern kitchen.

Fear not though- if I've taken a recipe from another source I'll always let you know where to find the original.

A few quick notes before we start:

  • I have a non-fan assisted oven, so the times and temperatures given in the recipes will vary if you are using one. A good start is to knock off about 5-10 minutes and 20 degrees Celsius for a fan-assisted oven, or keep an eye open and tweak things as needed for your oven.
  • Measures; I'm not very consistent with the types of measures I use I'm afraid, sometimes it will be in grammes, sometimes ounces, depending on the recipe. I'll include the conversions where I can.
  • CUPS- Where a recipe is measured in CUPS I'm using a real tea cup to measure out the ingredients, NOT the American unit. This is so that my recipes can be used if you have scales handy or not, a lot of the time I use my trusty tea cup as it is the ratio of ingredients that's important. So if you want to scale up a recipe use a mug, and if you want to scale down a recipe use a small tea cup- clever eh?
Enjoy! :)
