This recipe is great if you're not quite sure what to do with the last egg and ends of bread, or you just fancy something a little extra-lovely on a weekend.
Prep time: 5 mins
Cooking time: 10 mins
For 2 slices of toast:
1 egg, beaten
2 slices of bread
1 dessert spoon of caster sugar
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of mixed spice.
1/4 teaspoon of grated nutmeg.
Butter ( for the toast)
1. Beat the egg until the yoke and white have combined, then pour onto a sandwich plate.
2. Butter both slices of bread.
2.5. Dip each slice of bread in egg, covering both sides
3. Mix the sugar and the spices together, then sprinkle half the mixture on each slice of bread, being sure to cover each side.
4. Heat a non-stick frying pan, then place in the bread)
5. Cook each side until the egg is a golden brown, there should be no liquid egg left. If you have a lot of sugar on the bread it may start to caramelise.
6. Put your feet up and eat hot with a nice cup of tea, or if you're feeling really luxurious, a scoop of ice-cream!
